Welcome to the M.A.M.A. (Manatee Area Mothers Association) the newest Manatee Area Mom’s club. M.A.M.A. was
put together by a mother new to the area as a way to meet others in her same situation. At M.A.M.A. we understand
how hard it is to get out and socialize with little ones, our dire need to have adult conversation with others who can
empathize, and to have our children of similar age interact and grow as friends as we do. M.A.M.A. welcomes new
moms, veteran moms; working moms, stay at home moms, and moms of any kind.
M.A.M.A. offers playgroups at least once a week. We will alternate our meeting sites between a public location (park,
pool, beach, restaurant, etc.) and a member’s home. We do ask that members take turns at hosting a playgroup at
their house. Depending on the number of members, you will only volunteer your home once every 3 – 6 months. On
occasion we may schedule activities that have a cost (ex: jungle gardens, chuck e cheese’s). As the group grows we
will break off into playgroups with 5-6 children per group all of which are similar in age range. This will be easier and
more conducive for the children to interact with each other.
M.A.M.A. understands the need for adult time as well. Therefore, once a month we will schedule a “MOMS night out”.
Participation is strictly on a voluntary basis. M.A.M.A. will try to find inexpensive, convenient and fun things for
unwinding. A couple’s night out will also hopefully evolve.
Annually, M.A.M.A. will schedule FAMILY activities such as family picnics, that will be a “pot luck” activity. Holiday
activities (Easter, Halloween and Christmas) will also be a time we schedule specialty parties. M.A.M.A. is always open

With the success and growth of M.A.M.A. we hope to offer a monthly newsletter. This will occur with the voluntary input
and ideas from members. Soon we will offer options such as president, vice president, event planner, and writers.
