First Saturday of each month, Home Depot's Kids Workshop. Build a craft with your child at your local Home Depot. The workshops are FREE , how-to clinics designed for children ages 5-12, available on the first Saturday of each month between 9 a.m. and noon at all The Home Depot stores. Children, accompanied by an adult, use their skills to create objects that can be used in and around their homes or communities. FREE Any Day-

Sarasota Bay Front Park- Behind Marina Jacks on Tamiami Trail, in Sarasota you'll find a wonderful playground and fountain park that is FREE. The fountains open at 10am.
Coquina Bay Walk at Leffis Key, Gulf of Mexico Drive. Features footpaths and boardwalks around tidal lagoons, through mangrove forests and salt marshes. 6am-10pm, information: 742- 5923
Rye Wilderness, 751 Rye Wilderness Trail, Parrish. The 145 Acre park features 5-6 miles of natue trails and horesback trails. 8am to sunset. Information: 776-0900
Manatee Riverwalk- from Barcarrota Boulevard to Riverside Drive East in downtown Bradenton takes a person past the Manatee River and a developing urban landscape. Walk along the red brick sidewalk past the park benches, clock tower and an outdoor amphitheater. Visit the playground. Information: 748-3411 or 708-6200
Day Trips
Fort De Soto Park, 3500 Pinellas Bayway S. Tierra Verde. This wonderful park can keep your family active for hours. The Park has beaches, nature trails, canoe trails and a historic fort. Hours: Dawn to Dusk, Admission is free but there are 2 state highway tolls of 50 Cents. This is the perfect place to go biking, roller blading or walking with your family. 727-582-2267
